When the Olympic Games come around every two years on a different corner of the world it has the ability to inspire people in hundreds of ways. You might hear a story of a commercial photographer Ottawa based who has fought their entire life to make it to the top of the podium or could be enthralled by the tale of the youngest competitor in their category setting a new record. And we have learned throughout the years that the games are about more than the events that take place and the metals that are won. They literally bring the world together for a few weeks and this is great for politics, the economy and people.

If you're interested in being a part of the Games than you might want to consider adding your company's name to the list of national sponsors. From a Canadian class action firm to a food company, national teams need as much support as they can get to progress from training to the podium. While you might only have heard about the largest sponsors when watching commercials leading up to the Games, there were really hundreds of companies getting their name out there as a Markham eye clinic or a Calgary clothing brand throughout the events.
For the Winter Games in Vancouver there were three different levels of sponsorships that businesses could participate in. The largest of these was to become an Official Supplier. If you are part of the national office of the Sutton Group you might choose to sponsor some of the housing for the athletes coming in from across the world. Or you might be from a communications company that can offer media support and telecommunications.
The Official Sponsors are those companies that might not be able to provide any specific products or services but want to be recognized as one of the major contributors. If you're working for a sports training center Mississauga based with dozens of locations across the country than you may choose to be represented on this level. Some of the companies that acted as Official Sponsors are Air Canada, Canadian Pacific, and Jet Set Sports.
National Partners are those that are mainly giving a large sum of money directly towards athletes' training and their trip to the Olympic Games. There are also those at this level who provided key supplies for the Vancouver Olympic Games to run smoothly. For example, you may have seen the commercials highlighting how Chevrolet provided all of the vehicles used during the Games. In turn, the Hudson's Bay Company were the official merchant partner, creating all of the uniforms and souvenir clothing for the event. They outfitted all of those in the Canadian camp of the Athlete's Village.
